Knightwerx in the Phoenix Business Journal: Why Arizona Is the Right Home for Our Next Phase

Knightwerx was recently featured in the Phoenix Business Journal following our relocation from Camarillo, California, to Scottsdale, Arizona. The article highlighted an important milestone for the company: our move into a defense and manufacturing ecosystem that is increasingly aligned with the next generation of autonomous systems.

For Knightwerx, the relocation is not just a change of address. It is a strategic step in our growth.

We are building unmanned aircraft systems and sensor technologies for demanding defense, security, and operational environments. That requires engineering talent, manufacturing capacity, access to test and demonstration opportunities, and proximity to a community that understands both innovation and mission urgency. Arizona offers that combination.

The Phoenix region has become a serious hub for aerospace, defense, semiconductors, advanced manufacturing, and dual-use technology. For a company like Knightwerx, that matters. We are not building in isolation. We are building physical systems that must be designed, tested, integrated, manufactured, and supported. That kind of hard-tech growth depends on the surrounding ecosystem.

Scottsdale and the broader Phoenix area give Knightwerx access to a strong labor market, business-friendly infrastructure, and a growing network of defense-focused partners. It also places us closer to military, government, and public safety users who can help shape how our systems evolve.

Our flagship Sandman platform is designed as a compact, modular, AI-enabled unmanned aircraft system for frontline operators. Our Darqmatter technology supports precision environmental sensing in a small, lightweight form factor. Both reflect the same company philosophy: build practical tools that solve real operational problems.

The move to Arizona supports that philosophy. As Knightwerx scales, we need the ability to hire engineers, expand production, deepen partnerships, and move quickly from prototype to field-relevant capability. Arizona gives us a strong foundation for that next phase.

We are grateful for the recognition from the Phoenix Business Journal and for the support we have received from the Arizona business, defense, and innovation communities. Relocating a company is never simple, but the response has confirmed what we believed when we made the decision: Arizona is the right place for Knightwerx to grow.
